Joint Media Statement -Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAP-P)
Information for intending applicants to the PNG University of Technology (Unitech), the University of Goroka (UOG) and the Pacific Adventist University (PAU). The test is compulsory for all applicants of PNGUoT, UOG, or PAU. This applies to:
- All School Leavers (SLs) applying to PNGUOT, UOG, or PAU
- All pre-service non-School Leavers (non-SLs) applying to UOG or PAU
If SL applications to three institutions, and pre-service non-SL applicants to UOG and PAU do not obtain STAP-P test results, they will not be considered for admission.

There are nineteen (19) STAT-P TEST CENTERS this year. STAT-P test will be conducted in the following locations in 2023

Important information for intending applicants
To book a test session
- School Leaver (Current Gr.12) applicants are required to register and book your test session through the DHERST National Online Application System (NOAS).
- Non- School Leaver applicants to UOG and PAU only, are required to register and do your test bookings by going to the website www.statpngreg.acer.edu.au
Applicants must first complete the test booking before paying a non-refundable test fee of K130.00. Applicants who fully complete a test booking, will receive an automated message in their ACER (STAP-P) accounts.
The message will contain a summary of their test bookings and specific instructions on how to pay the test fee, including account details.
Payment Method:
Payments must be made into the account that ACER provides the details of their booking confirmation and not into the university accounts. More information about STAT-P is available on the ACER website (statpng.acer.org)
Test payments must be made through direct bank deposit at a local BSP Branch or through Online (Internet) Banking. All Bank Deposit Receipts (deposit slip butt and the printed transaction receipt) must be carefully saved and presented at the test venue on the applicants’ test day. Receipts should be presented with valid ID cards at Check-in counters on the test day. Any applicant who fails to provide bank receipts as evidence will not be allowed to sit for the STAT-P Test.
Applicants must attend the test session and center that they registered for. The three(3) institutions will not be able to liable for any transport cost or cater for accommodation for applicants to sit the test at any of the test locations. It is the sole responsibility of the applicants.
Forms of acceptable ID:
The acceptable forms of identification document that applicants are required to bring the test venue on the test day are listed below and must be issued within the last five (5) years.
- Issued within the last 5 years
- Secondary student photo ID card
- Workplace photo ID Card
- Other official photo ID (such as Church ID or Proof of age card
- Driver’s licence
- Passport
- National Identity Document (PNG NID)
The name used on the ID must match the name on applicant’s test booking and must contain full name, a recent photo of the applicant and signature of validity date or date of issue.
