Hopefully, more higher institutions will implement it, giving more flexibility to pay parents and sponsors to pay anytime that is convenient to them.

There are two payment gateway options for the client to use.

1: Bank South Pacific (BSP) JustPay

Pacific Adventist University is listed as one of local PNG business using JustPay payment gateway.

See the list of businesses using BSP JustPay merchant services.

BSP JustPay is a Domestic Payment Gateway which will enable any BSP Account Holder to pay for goods and services without requiring a Debit Credit Card.

For BSP customers to pay using JustPay option, one has to register for BSP Mobile Banking or Internet Banking to get their BSP ID (Customer Identification Number CIF) which they can use to pay.

See full details by about JustPay payment by downloading the Brochure document from BSP.

2: Doku Payment gateway

www.doku.com is an  Indonesian based International Payment Gateway company. This is option is for those clients who want to  pay by Credit Card. This means customers with a Debit VISA Card from either of our Local Banks can pay just as they would use it for other online payments. The nice thing is that amount charged is in PNG Kina currency and not US Dollars.

Benefits for PAU Customers.

The following are immediate benefits customers will have by using this service.

  • Pay School Fees direct without having to go to a local bank to Deposit.
  • Choose among the two electronic payment options that is convenient for them.
  • Making it easy for relatives and sponsors that are overseas based to pay direct without having to using Bank TT Transfers. This will be really helpful for overseas and students from Pacific Island Nations studying at PAU.

Other tertiary institutions need to do the same.

PAU is probably the first University to integrate Online Payments using Payment Gateways and sets a precedence for all other tertiary institutions to Papua New Guinea to follow suit.

Tertiary institutions must step up use  available payment gateway services like BSP JustPay and start using them to improve their customer services to students, parents and sponsors.
