
Bainyik Campus-Former Sepik Agriculture College
The Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology has given a Service Contract to the University of Goroka to redevelop the former Sepik Agriculture College at Bainyik, Maprik District to offer its Agriculture and Rural Development programs. A three-year Diploma in Agriculture program will be offered at the Bainyik Campus beginning 2021. On successful completion of this program in 2023, the top 20% of the cohort will be selected to do another year of study to obtain a Bachelor of Agriculture degree.
Applications is now open for Grade 12 School Leavers and Non-School Leavers to apply for enrollment for the Diploma Program in the 2021 Academic Year.
Fifty (50) government Scholarships are available for School Leavers with merit that wish to study Agriculture at Bainyik.
For the 2021 Academic Year Students enrolled for study will all be ‘Day students’.
Therefore, the enrolled students who are not from Maprik District are to find rental accomdation in Maprik tow or somewhere near Bainyik Campus. However, as of 2022 and onwards, board and lodging facilities will be available for students on campus. Maprik is a sprawling town of the Central Sepik region and is a service center for the people of East and West Sepik Provinces.
Program Admission Requirements
The admission requirements are:
- Grade 12 School Certificate with a minimum of C grade passes in Mathematics A and Chemistry and B grade passes in English, Biology, and Agriculture.
- Character reference from School Principal
- Police Clearance
- Medical Check
Grade 12 School Leavers who wish to study Agriculture at Bainyik Campus are to make their intentions know to the Department of Higher Education, Science, Research and Technology through online selection platform (National Online Selection Systems (NOAS)
Non-School Leavers
Non-school Leavers are to download the Application from the University Website www.unigoroka.ac.pg complete the application and submit to the:
