Programs/Courses On Offer

The National Polytechnic Institute of Papua New Guinea (NPIPNG) now accepts applications from interested applicants for possible admission to the following academic programs/courses for Semester 2, 2020

  • Diploma in Architectural Drafting-Stage 1
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering-Stage 1
  • Diploma of Applied Science-Stage 1
  • Certificate 1 in Metal Fitting and Welding
  • Certificate 3 in Metal Fabrication and Welding*
  • Certificate 3 in Maintenance Fitting and Machining*
  • Certificate 3 in Sciences (Biology/Chemistry/Physics streams)**
  • Certificate 3 in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)**
  • Certificate 3 in Record Keeping**

*    For Certificate 3 in MFM or MFW, applicants must have Certificate 2 qualifications and with at least 6 months industrial experience or             the Job Training (OJT)

**   New courses that will lead to Advanced Diploma of Laboratory Operation, Advanced Diploma of Management (Human Resource) and             Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management respectively.

Application Fee

A non-refundable application processing fee of fifty kina (K50.00) has to be deposited into the Institute’s account with these details

  • Grade 12 only for Diploma and Certificate 3 (new programs)
  • Grade 10 for Certificate 1

  1. These programs/courses are self-sponsored with non-availability of boarding privileges
  2. The Institution reserves the right to discontinue any programs or courses that will not meet the minimum class size of 16 for Certificates 1 & 3 in MFM and MFM, or 25 for Diploma and Certificate 3 (new programs)
