It is with deep regret that the Leadership and Management team of the National Polytechnic Institute of Papua New Guinea (NPIPNG) wishes to inform and advise all concerned-our graduands and their respective parents, relative and sponsors, as well as other stakeholders, of the definite cancellation of 2020 graduation event that was tentatively scheduled to take place on Wednesday 22nd of July 2020
Reasons for Cancellation of Graduation for 2020
The factors or conditions that were stated in our previous releases were not met, namely (a) large gathering is still not allowed despite the lifting of SOE (State of Emergency), and (b) less then fifty (50%) only out of the total number of graduands had confirmed their participation.
The rental cost for the graduation venue had been paid in full long before the SOE and the staging of the event was eventually deferred and ultimately been called off completely.
Collection of Testamurs
The graduands could now obtain their respective testamurs (diplomas and or certificates), statement of results and unused gowns (no refund would be allowed) provided they do not have any outstanding financial obligation to the institute, otherwise they will not be released.
Testamurs Will Not Be Released to Any Third Party.
In order to secure the release of the above, the graduands may individually obtain them from the Office of the Deputy Director-Student Services.
Should a graduand wish to receive them through courier, he or she (not the institute) must arrange for delivery through any of the following: PNG Post’s EMS, TNT Air Cargo and DHL Express. Risk for possible loss is entirely the graduand’s own.
