Port Moresby Technical College, located in the National Capital District will be offering Diploma Programs in 2019 academic year. The debut Diploma Programs will be in Electrical Engineering, Printing and Graphic Arts. According to Deputy Principle-Academic Mr. Mitim Jake, the college is now implementing the PNG National Qualifications Framework in which the students will do qualification one, two and three before they continue into the diploma programs. Certificate one, two, and three are all done in one semester respectively. The fourth semester will be the diploma program. Those who graduate with certificate two will continue into certificate three and then do their diploma program.
Those who take the Diploma in Electrical can be a pathway for those who want to do a Electrical Engineering Degree at the Papua New Guinea University of Technology. Those who take the printing and graphic arts in digital and multimedia program can pursue further studies with the University Of Papua New Guinea Art strands.
The institution hopes to add more diploma programs for its other programs by year 2020.
