
The Bank of Papua New Guinea (PNG’s government’s Central Bank) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) to fund a program on Corporate Governance.
Bank Governor Mr.Loi Banaki and UPNG Acting Vice Chancellor Mr. Vincent Malaibe signed the MOA to fund the new Corporate Governance program with K300,000.00. According to Assistant Bank Governor Ellision Pidik PNG doesn’t a shortage of qualified professionals to sit in board rooms and direct with good governance. As such, the Bank is happy to partner with the UPNG train new professionals in field of Corporate Governance, thus help fill the shortfalls so new graduates can succeed as Directors in their respective organizations.
The program will be offered under the UPNG School of Business and Public Policy. The school’s had it’s brand new Office complex recently completed under Australian Government Aid funding and was officially opened by the Australian Prime Minister, Scott Morris on the 18th of November during the Port Moresby APEC 2018 Leaders Summit.
